Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, Jammu & Kashmir, on Tuesday, coinciding with the sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370.
The Indian Army retaliated effectively, silencing the Pakistani firing points and preventing any damage or casualties on the Indian side. The situation along the Line of Control in the sector was reported to be stable following the exchange.
Security agencies view the ceasefire violation as an attempt by Pakistan to provoke tensions on a politically sensitive date, marking six years since the constitutional changes in Jammu & Kashmir.
