UP Agniveer Nitin Prajapati Dies of Heart Attack During Training

25-year-old soldier from Shamli collapsed while running; family and village plunged into grief.

Tragedy struck Unchagaon village in Kairana area of Shamli district after the sudden death of 25-year-old Agniveer Nitin Prajapati, who collapsed during a training run in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday morning.

Nitin, who had joined the Army just four months ago under the Agniveer scheme, was participating in a regular training exercise when he suddenly lost consciousness and fell to the ground. Fellow trainees and instructors rushed to his aid, but by the time doctors examined him, he had already passed away. The cause of death was confirmed as a heart attack.

Funeral in Native Village

On Wednesday morning, Nitin’s mortal remains were brought back to Unchagaon with full respect by Army personnel. As the funeral procession entered the village around 10:30 am, the atmosphere echoed with chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Hindustan Zindabad.”

His grief-stricken family, relatives, and hundreds of villagers gathered to pay their last respects to the young soldier, who had always dreamt of serving the nation in uniform.

Family in Mourning, Mother Shows Unwavering Courage

Nitin was the eldest son of Satish Prajapati, who earns a living by driving a rented tractor. His mother, Preeti, is visually impaired since birth, yet displayed remarkable strength at her son’s funeral. “My son is a martyr. I cannot live without him, but he gave his life for the nation,” she said, consoling others instead of breaking down.

The soldier is survived by his parents, a younger brother Shivam (Class 12 student), and a younger sister. His grandmother, with tearful eyes, recalled the sacrifices made to educate Nitin and help him achieve his dream, only for fate to cut his journey short.

A Dream of Serving the Nation

According to his relatives, Nitin had always aspired to join the Army and make his family proud. His cousin Ankit Prajapati said the family was informed of his death via a call from Army officials on Monday morning. “He was full of energy, always spoke about serving the country, and carried a smile on his face. His passing is a great loss to all of us,” he added.

Community Grieves a Hero

The entire Shamli region is mourning the loss. Villagers remember Nitin as a cheerful and determined youth, respected by everyone for his humility and patriotism. While his life ended abruptly during training, locals say his sacrifice will forever be remembered as a symbol of courage and dedication to the nation.
