The Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, witnessed a change of command as Lt Gen Vivek Kashyap, PVSM, AVSM, VSM assumed charge as its 12th Commandant. He succeeds Lt Gen Sukriti S Dahiya, SM, VSM, who completed a distinguished tenure marked by significant contributions to the institution.
The announcement was made by the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), with Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, GOC-in-C, ARTRAC, and all ranks extending their best wishes to both the outgoing and incoming Commandants.
With 38 years of service, Lt Gen Vivek Kashyap brings a wealth of operational and strategic experience. His career has included key command and staff appointments, with expertise spanning mechanised warfare, combat leadership, and cyber operations. Officials noted that his leadership is expected to further strengthen the academyโs training modules and overall effectiveness in grooming future Army leaders.
Located in Bihar, OTA Gaya is one of the premier pre-commissioning institutions of the Indian Army, tasked with preparing cadets for commissioned service. The academy has been central to shaping young men into officers, instilling values of discipline, leadership, and professionalism.
