Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, attended the ongoing World Para Athletics Championships 2025 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, where he felicitated and presented medals to outstanding athletes for their exceptional performances.
The New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, being held from September 27 to October 5, 2025, marks the 12th edition of the prestigious event and the largest Para sport competition ever hosted in India. The championship has brought together over 1,000 athletes from around the globe, competing in 186 medal events โ including 101 for men, 84 for women, and one mixed event โ surpassing participation numbers from the previous edition held in Kobe, Japan.
During the event, General Dwivedi interacted with several para athletes, including participants from the Indian Army, acknowledging their indomitable spirit, discipline, and perseverance. He lauded their achievements and urged them to continue inspiring others through their determination and excellence.
