The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) hosted the Director’s Parade today, marking a significant milestone as a rehearsal for the upcoming Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 77th Regular Recruit (77RR) batch. The event, held on the academy grounds, showcased the disciplined training and international collaboration that define SVPNPA’s legacy.
The parade was commanded by Anjit A Nayar, an IPS probationer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, who led a contingent of 190 officer trainees. This group included 16 foreign officers from Bhutan, Maldives, and Nepal, highlighting the academy’s role in fostering global police training partnerships. The ceremony concluded the first phase of an intensive 11-month training program designed to equip future Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with the skills needed for modern policing challenges.
SVPNPA Director Amit Garg inspected the parade and addressed the probationers, emphasizing the importance of their training and dedication. The event featured a series of striking visuals: neatly aligned formations of trainees on the rain-dampened parade ground, an ornate podium adorned with flowers, and a ceremonial jeep inspection, reflecting the academy’s tradition of military precision.
41 officials of the Academy were awarded Director’s Commendation Roll & Insignia and Director’s Commendation Roll on the occasion of the Director’s Parade. Ms. Kirti Yadav, IPS Probationer of 77 RR borne on AGMUT cadre, won the Medal for the best Probationer in Drill. Shri Bansode Pratik Dadasaheb, IPS Probationer of 77 RR borne on Chhattisgarh cadre, won the best Probationer in Musketry.Mr. Kuenga Lhendup, officer trainee of the Royal Bhutan Police, won the Medal for Best Gentleman Probationer in PT.
Established in 1986, SVPNPA continues to be a cornerstone of police training in India, preparing officers who will serve as Assistant Superintendents of Police across the country. The Passing Out Parade for the 77RR batch, which follows this rehearsal, will mark the official culmination of their foundational training phase.
