In a significant demonstration of operational oversight and strategic readiness, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Central Command, visited the forward areas of Himachal Pradesh to assess the preparedness of the Tripeaks Brigade. The visit underscored the Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security in challenging mountainous terrains.
During his inspection, Lt Gen Sengupta lauded the formation’s remarkable contribution to strengthening combat readiness and its pivotal role in enhancing India’s defensive posture along sensitive borders. He commended the brigade for its pioneering infrastructure development projects undertaken in difficult high-altitude conditions, which have significantly bolstered the Army’s operational capabilities. The Army Commander also highlighted the brigade’s efforts in setting new benchmarks in mountain warfare and border operations, reflecting the evolving strategic priorities of the Indian Army in the region.

Marking the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashmi (Dussehra), Lt Gen Sengupta participated in the traditional ‘Shastra Puja’, a sacred ceremony symbolising the sanctity and strength of the armed forces’ weapons and equipment. The ritual, steeped in military tradition, reaffirms the Army’s deep-rooted ethos of valour, discipline, and devotion to duty.
