Assam Rifles, often hailed as the ‘Sentinels of the North East’, organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with the District Hospital Tamenglong on 01 October 2025 under the banner of ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivaar Abhiyaan’ in Manipur. The initiative aimed at promoting voluntary blood donation, improving women’s health, and enhancing overall community well-being, reflecting Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to public service and humanitarian efforts beyond its security duties.
The blood donation camp witnessed overwhelming participation from local residents, youth volunteers, and Assam Rifles personnel, showcasing the spirit of unity and social responsibility. Medical staff from the District Hospital provided essential health checks and guidance to the donors, highlighting the importance of regular blood donation in saving lives and supporting the healthcare system, especially in remote and underserved regions.

The ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivaar Abhiyaan’ – translating to “Healthy Women, Empowered Family Campaign” – focuses on holistic health awareness, maternal care, and preventive healthcare measures for women, emphasising that a healthy family begins with the health and empowerment of women. Through this initiative, Assam Rifles aims to raise awareness about the crucial role women’s health plays in building stronger families and resilient communities.

Such community-driven campaigns are a testament to Assam Rifles’ dedication not just to safeguarding the nation’s borders but also to fostering socio-economic development and healthcare awareness in the North-Eastern states. By conducting medical camps, educational drives, and welfare programmes, Assam Rifles continues to bridge the gap between security forces and the local population, reinforcing its role as a force for both protection and progress.
