Vice Admiral V. Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command (SNC), conducted a comprehensive review of the operational readiness and combat efficiency of SNC ships during a high-intensity ‘Day at Sea’ off the coast of Kochi.
During the exercise, Vice Admiral Srinivas observed a wide array of operations, including multi-ship replenishments, ship-borne helicopter operations, sail training, tactical manoeuvres, and multi-aircraft coordination. The ‘Day at Sea’ exercise was designed to assess and enhance the preparedness of naval personnel under realistic operational conditions, ensuring rapid response capability in all maritime scenarios.
The FOCINC(South) commended the SNC afloat crew for their professionalism, teamwork, and relentless dedication, highlighting their pivotal role in establishing the Indian Navy as a combat-ready, cohesive, and Atmanirbhar force. He emphasized the strategic importance of maintaining high operational standards to safeguard India’s maritime interests and contribute to a Viksit Samriddha Bharat.
The exercise underscores the Southern Naval Command’s continued focus on strengthening operational capability, integrating advanced platforms, and fostering skill development among personnel to meet emerging challenges in the Indian Ocean Region.
