The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, conducted its 26th Convocation Ceremony on 28 November 2025, marking another milestone in the institution’s legacy of shaping future naval leaders. A total of 87 Midshipmen of the 109th Indian Naval Academy Course, including ten international cadets from Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Bangladesh, were conferred B.Tech degrees by Dr V. Narayanan, Secretary, Department of Space and Chairman, ISRO. Proud parents of the graduating officers graced the ceremony, alongside Vice Admiral Manish Chadha, AVSM, VSM, Commandant INA, and the academy’s officers and instructors.

The Midshipmen graduated in three specialised streams — Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering (AEC), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME) — under the academic affiliation of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. The comprehensive B.Tech curriculum at INA has equipped them with a strong foundation in critical engineering domains, analytical capability and operationally relevant technical skills. These attributes are essential for officers serving in a modern, technology-driven Navy that operates advanced maritime systems, engages in network-centric warfare and adapts continuously to emerging naval technologies.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Guest congratulated the graduating Midshipmen and their families for their dedication and perseverance. He praised the faculty and staff of INA for their commitment to excellence and administered the Convocation Oath to the newly commissioned officers. Outstanding performers were felicitated during the event, with the Chief of the Naval Staff Rolling Trophy for best academic performance awarded to Midshipman Vishnu KK (AEC), Midshipman Rishav Kumar (ECE), and Midshipman Arjun Singh (ME).

The ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter for the graduating officers as they embark on their careers in the Indian Navy and allied nations, prepared to uphold the highest standards of service, leadership and technological competence in the maritime domain.
