Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps, visited the Military Hospital at Dinjan to review Exercise Surge Response, a large-scale medical preparedness and disaster relief drill.
During the visit, the Army Commander assessed the hospitalโs emergency response mechanisms, casualty management systems, and coordination drills designed to simulate real-time crisis situations.

Lt Gen Pendharkar lauded the professionalism, commitment, and technical competence of the medical teams involved, emphasizing the crucial role of military healthcare personnel in ensuring rapid and effective responses during humanitarian crises and natural disasters.
He also interacted with National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets who actively participated in various relief and evacuation exercises. The GOC praised their enthusiasm, discipline, and willingness to serve society, highlighting the importance of youth participation in national resilience and emergency preparedness initiatives.

The exercise reaffirmed the Indian Armyโs focus on strengthening civil-military cooperation, enhancing medical readiness, and fostering a culture of proactive humanitarian assistance in the region.
