Six Months After Operation Sindoor, Lashkar and Jaish Plot Fresh Wave of Attacks in Jammu & Kashmir

Fresh intelligence suggests Pakistan-based LeT and JeM are regrouping for coordinated attacks in J&K, aided by ISI and SSG operatives, six months after India’s Operation Sindoor dismantled major terror networks.

Six months after India’s successful Operation Sindoor, fresh intelligence inputs have revealed that Pakistan-based terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) are mobilising for a new wave of coordinated attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to intelligence reports accessed by NDTV, both groups have intensified infiltration, reconnaissance, and cross-border logistics since September. Multiple LeT and JeM units have reportedly entered Indian territory through Line of Control (LoC) routes, allegedly assisted by Pakistan’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) operatives.

Sources said a LeT unit led by a terrorist named Shamsher conducted aerial reconnaissance using drones to identify vulnerable LoC gaps — suggesting the possibility of fidayeen-style attacks or weapon drops in the coming weeks.

The dossier also warns that Pakistan’s Border Action Teams (BATs), comprising former SSG soldiers and terrorists, have been redeployed across Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), indicating potential cross-border strikes on Indian positions.

High-level meetings in PoK during October reportedly brought together senior figures from Jamaat-e-Islami, Hizbul Mujahideen, and ISI, where plans were finalised to revive dormant terror cells, pay stipends to ex-commanders, and avenge losses from Operation Sindoor.

Adding a dangerous twist, LeT operatives are said to be rebuilding their human intelligence network across the Kashmir Valley, mapping local sympathisers and reviving narco-terror and arms smuggling routes to fund future operations.

Officials in New Delhi have described the intelligence as a “critical warning”, confirming that the Indian Army and intelligence agencies are on high alert across all Northern Command sectors.

The new threat comes even as India conducts its Tri-service Exercise Trishul along the western borders in Gujarat and Rajasthan. With winter approaching — a time when infiltration typically declines — analysts warn that Pakistan’s renewed aggression could signal the start of a “long winter of terror” in Jammu and Kashmir.
