Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command, visited the newly inaugurated Community Radio Station Radio IBEX Tarana 88.4 FM in Harsil, commending the Indian Army’s initiative to enhance information access and connect with local communities in the remote Himalayan region.

The Army Commander interacted with the radio station team, appreciating their dedication in running the platform and effectively engaging listeners across the valley. He highlighted how such grassroots communication efforts strengthen community awareness, local participation, and timely dissemination of essential information.

During his visit, Lt Gen Sengupta also reviewed ongoing development efforts under the Vibrant Villages Programme. He emphasised the Indian Army’s sustained commitment to supporting remote border communities through improved communication networks, outreach initiatives, and continuous assistance.

The visit underscored the Army’s broader efforts to foster trust, development, and inclusivity in high-altitude regions, ensuring that information and essential services reach the last mile.
