General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), reviewed a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Sri Lanka Army Headquarters in Colombo as part of his official engagements in Sri Lanka.

During the visit, the COAS interacted with BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. The discussions focused on further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, deepening military-to-military ties, and reaffirming the shared commitment of both nations to regional peace and security.

As a tangible step in enhancing cooperation, military vehicles, ambulances, and training simulators were handed over on the occasion. These assets are expected to bolster operational readiness, training effectiveness, and humanitarian response capabilities, reflecting the practical dimensions of the IndiaโSri Lanka defence partnership.

The engagement underscored the enduring bonds of friendship between the two armies and highlighted the mutual emphasis on capacity building, interoperability, and collaboration in addressing shared security challenges in the region.
