The Platoon Commanders Course of the Indian Army, conducted at the Junior Leaders Wing (JL Wing), Belagavi, successfully culminated on January 13, 2026, marking the completion of an important leadership training milestone for young officers and junior leaders.
Major General Rakesh Manocha, Commander JL Wing, delivered the closing address and presented awards to the distinguished performers. He urged the course participants to effectively utilise the professional knowledge, tactical acumen, and leadership skills gained during the training to excel across the full spectrum of operations of war.

The course also reflected Indiaโs growing defence cooperation, with 13 personnel from friendly foreign countriesโSri Lanka, Maldives, and Bhutanโsuccessfully completing the programme, strengthening military-to-military ties and interoperability.
Havildar Muhammad Salmaan Meer of the Special Forces was adjudged the Best Student of the course for his outstanding performance and all-round excellence. The coveted Best Foreign Student award was conferred on Staff Sergeant Fathuhulla Mohamed of the Maldives Army.
The successful culmination of the course reaffirmed the Junior Leaders Wingโs pivotal role in developing capable platoon commanders and fostering leadership, professionalism, and joint understanding among Indian and foreign military personnel.
