As part of the Naval & Industrial Tour of Higher Command Courseโ54, a delegation of 50 course officers led by Lt Gen Harjeet Singh Sahi, Commandant, Army War College (AWC), Mhow, visited the Eastern Naval Command from January 5 to 8, 2026.

The visit aimed to provide senior Army officers with a comprehensive overview of naval operations and the roles and responsibilities of the Indian Navy in safeguarding national maritime security. The programme began with an interactive briefing at Headquarters Eastern Naval Command, highlighting operational concepts, force employment, and maritime security challenges across the eastern seaboard and the wider Indo-Pacific.

Course officers subsequently undertook guided, educative tours onboard frontline naval platforms, including ships and submarines, gaining firsthand exposure to warfighting capabilities, sustainment practices, and operational readiness. The itinerary also included interactions with Vice Admiral Susheel Menon, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command.

In addition, the delegation visited key shore establishments such as the Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam and INS Satavahana, providing insights into submarine training, maintenance, and dockyard support functions critical to sustained maritime operations.
The naval attachment under Higher Command Course-54 significantly contributed to strengthening jointness among the tri-services by fostering inter-service understanding, operational synergy, and appreciation of maritime power in contemporary and future conflict scenarios.
