On the occasion of the New Year, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Central Command, visited various formations and interacted with troops, conveying New Year greetings and reinforcing the Indian Armyโs commitment to operational readiness, morale, and soldier welfare.
During his interactions, the Army Commander lauded the troops for their professionalism, dedication, and vigilance, urging them to maintain high standards of preparedness while continuing to uphold the ethos and values of the Indian Army.

Focus on Veteransโ Welfare
As part of the visit, Lt Gen Sengupta inaugurated new Veteran Facilities, including a Veteran Lounge, reaffirming the Armyโs enduring bond with veterans and their families. He emphasised that caring for veterans remains a core responsibility and an integral part of the Armyโs value system.

Review of Operational Preparedness
The Army Commander reviewed the operational preparedness at Headquarters, Paschim Uttar Pradesh Sub Area (PUPSA), where he was briefed on security measures, administrative efficiency, and readiness levels.
He later visited Headquarters, Base Workshop Group EME, Meerut, where he witnessed ongoing indigenisation and modernisation initiatives. These included the development and deployment of dual-use equipment and drone systems, aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat and the Indian Armyโs Transformation initiatives.
Emphasis on Self-Reliance and Modernisation

Lt Gen Sengupta appreciated the efforts of EME personnel in integrating indigenous technologies and innovative solutions to enhance operational capability and sustainability. He highlighted that such initiatives are critical to building a future-ready, self-reliant force capable of meeting emerging challenges.
