New Delhi, January 30, 2026 โ Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, Army Commander of the Western Command, extended congratulations to the 14 Gorkha Training Centre (GTC) Pipes & Drums Band for their outstanding performance at the Republic Day Parade 2026. The band was adjudged the Best Pipes Band during the national event, demonstrating exceptional skill and discipline in their musical rendition.

The recognition highlights the bandโs contribution to the parade, which featured precise marching and captivating tunes that resonated with the audience. Colonel Abhishek Bhakat, Deputy Commandant, along with the Officiating Centre Subedar Major and the Band Junior Commissioned Officer, received the trophy from the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

This accolade is part of broader felicitations by the Indian Army leadership, including COAS General Upendra Dwivedi, who honored various contingents and bands for their exemplary displays during the Republic Day Parade and Beating Retreat Ceremony.
