The Southern Command Unit Citation was awarded to 454 Field Hospital on 7 February 2026 by Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, in recognition of the unit’s outstanding contribution to Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations and sustained operational excellence.
The citation stands as a testament to the yeoman service rendered by the unit under challenging and adverse circumstances, reflecting the highest standards of professionalism, dedication and compassion upheld by the Indian Army’s medical services.
The honour was received by the Commanding Officer and Subedar Major of 454 Field Hospital during an investiture ceremony held at Ahmedabad, marking a proud moment for the unit and its personnel.
