An aircraft-shaped balloon bearing the inscription “PIA” was recovered from an area under Police Post Teryath in Rajouri district on Tuesday, prompting a swift response from security agencies.
According to officials, locals spotted the balloon in a hilly patch and immediately alerted the police. A team from the local police unit reached the site and secured the object for examination.
Rajouri Police confirmed that upon inspection, no electrical or electronic components were found attached to the balloon. Authorities stated that the object appeared to be a harmless inflatable item shaped like an aircraft.
As a precautionary measure, security personnel maintained heightened vigilance in the surrounding area. However, officials clarified that there was no cause for alarm and the situation remained normal.
Police have urged residents to promptly report any unidentified or suspicious objects to the nearest police station to ensure timely verification and public safety.
