Assam Rifles organised a felicitation ceremony at Sector Headquarters, Churachandpur, to honour Lieutenant Obed Thangminsiam on his commissioning into the Indian Army. The ceremony celebrated the achievement of the young officer and recognised his dedication and perseverance in joining the officer cadre of the Indian Army.
Lieutenant Obed Thangminsiam, a resident of Hiangzou village in Churachandpur district of Manipur, was commissioned into the prestigious 10 Guards on March 7, 2026. He successfully completed his pre-commission training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, one of the premier institutions responsible for training officers for the Indian Army.

The felicitation ceremony was presided over by the Sector Commander of Assam Rifles, who congratulated Lieutenant Thangminsiam for his determination, resilience, and commitment to serving the nation. The commander highlighted that his achievement reflects the strong spirit of the youth from Manipur and the North Eastern region.

During the event, the Sector Commander also encouraged young aspirants from the region to take inspiration from Lieutenant Thangminsiam’s journey and pursue careers in the armed forces. He emphasised that dedication, discipline, and perseverance can help young individuals achieve their dreams of serving the nation in uniform.

The ceremony underscored Assam Rifles’ continued efforts to motivate and support youth from the North East to join the armed forces and contribute to national service. Lieutenant Obed Thangminsiam’s accomplishment stands as a proud moment for his family, community, and the state of Manipur.
