Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh released the Manual of Security Instructions 2026 of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) at a function held in South Block, New Delhi, on March 9, 2026.
The newly issued manual serves as a comprehensive document outlining updated security guidelines and protocols for personnel within the ministry. According to officials, the document will be periodically updated to keep pace with evolving security challenges and emerging threats.
Focus on Security Discipline
Addressing officials during the release ceremony, the Defence Secretary stressed the importance of maintaining strict security discipline in view of the changing security environment.
He highlighted that officers and security personnel must rigorously adhere to prescribed security procedures to safeguard sensitive information and maintain the integrity of the ministry’s operations.
Strengthening Internal Security Framework
Rajesh Kumar Singh also commended the Security Office of the Ministry of Defence for preparing the detailed guidelines and urged officials and security staff to ensure effective implementation of the new manual.
The updated Manual of Security Instructions 2026 is expected to play a key role in enhancing internal security practices and maintaining a secure working environment within the Ministry of Defence.
