Lieutenant General Zubin A. Minwalla has assumed charge as the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations), succeeding Air Marshal Rakesh Sinha, AVSM, who has superannuated after 39 years of distinguished service in the Indian Air Force.
Ensuring Continuity in Joint Operations Planning
With his new appointment, Lt Gen Minwalla will play a key role in conceptualising and preparing joint operational plans, issuing joint operations directives to the service headquarters, and strengthening inter-service synergy among the Army, Navy and Air Force.
The appointment also involves responsibilities related to planning, coordination and upgradation of joint military operations in accordance with directions from the Raksha Mantri, ensuring a unified approach to national defence strategy.
Farewell to Air Marshal Rakesh Sinha
On the occasion, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC), extended his heartfelt congratulations to Lt Gen Minwalla on assuming the new role.
He also conveyed warm farewell wishes to Air Marshal Rakesh Sinha, acknowledging his illustrious career and invaluable contributions to the nation’s defence.
Air Marshal Sinha’s rich experience and decades of dedicated service were praised as a source of pride and inspiration for the armed forces.
