Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath addressed the North Tech Symposium 2026 in Prayagraj, announcing that investment proposals worth over ₹35,000 crore are currently being implemented in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.
Emphasising the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s rapid progress in defence manufacturing, including developments in BrahMos missiles, advanced weapon systems, small arms, precision instruments, and military textiles. He noted that Uttar Pradesh is steadily emerging as a major defence production hub in India.

He also underscored the role of a robust ecosystem comprising MSMEs, skilled manpower, and improving infrastructure in driving the corridor’s growth. The state government’s policy initiatives and industry-friendly environment have attracted significant investments in the defence sector.

Referring to the symposium’s theme, “Raksha Triveni Sangam,” the Chief Minister said the platform is enabling the convergence of technology, knowledge, and innovation by bringing together the armed forces, industry, startups, and academia.

The initiative is expected to strengthen India’s indigenous defence capabilities, reduce dependence on imports, and generate employment, while positioning Uttar Pradesh as a key contributor to the country’s self-reliant defence ecosystem.
