Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Headquarters of the Southern Command to review its operational preparedness, capability development initiatives and ongoing modernisation efforts.
During the visit, the Army Chief was briefed on the Command’s measures to enhance Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) capabilities, accelerate technology absorption and strengthen integrated combat readiness across the full spectrum of military operations.

The briefing highlighted Southern Command’s efforts towards leveraging emerging technologies, improving operational effectiveness and maintaining a high level of preparedness to meet evolving security challenges. Particular emphasis was placed on the integration of modern systems, innovation-driven capability enhancement and future-ready force development.
General Dwivedi reviewed initiatives aimed at strengthening operational agility, improving interoperability and ensuring mission readiness in a rapidly changing strategic environment.

Interacting with officers and personnel, the Army Chief commended all ranks for their professionalism, dedication and commitment to maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
He encouraged troops to remain mission-focused, operationally agile and adaptable while continuing to pursue excellence in training, readiness and capability development.
