Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta visited Selection Centre East (SCE) on May 5–6, 2026, to review the functioning of the Services Selection Board (SSB) and assess the infrastructure supporting officer selection.

During the visit, Major General D R Rai, Commandant SCE, briefed the Army Commander on the detailed SSB selection process, including psychological assessments, group tasks, and personal interviews used to evaluate candidates aspiring to become commissioned officers.
Lt Gen Sengupta inspected the upgraded testing facilities and infrastructure at the centre, focusing on improvements aimed at enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of the selection system.

In recognition of exemplary service, the Army Commander awarded Commendation Cards to two personnel for their outstanding performance and contribution to the selection process.

The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining rigorous standards in officer selection and ensuring that only the most capable candidates are chosen to serve the nation.
