Lieutenant General CG Muralidharan, Director General Medical Services (Army) and Colonel Commandant of the Army Medical Corps (AMC), visited 158 Base Hospital and 38 AMSD on May 16, 2026, to review operational medical preparedness and healthcare support infrastructure in the strategically important Siliguri Corridor region.
During the visit, the General Officer released the “Ready Reckoner for Medical Officers,” a reference guide focused on the safe evacuation of critically ill patients, aimed at enhancing operational medical response and patient management.

Lt Gen Muralidharan also inaugurated the Film Array TORCH System (BIOFIRE), an advanced diagnostic platform designed to strengthen rapid and accurate medical diagnostics capabilities within military healthcare establishments.
The DGMS Army reviewed operational preparedness, logistics support, and healthcare delivery mechanisms supporting troops deployed across North Bengal and Sikkim.

He commended the units for their professional excellence, compassionate patient care, and steadfast combat medical support in challenging operational environments.

The visit highlighted the continued commitment of the Indian Army and the Army Medical Corps towards integrating advanced medical technologies and maintaining robust healthcare support for operational formations in strategically significant regions.
