Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of the Assam Rifles, visited the Assam Rifles Battalion at Wusan and the Company Operating Base (COB) at Kangan in Jammu and Kashmir to review operational preparedness and security arrangements.
During the visit, the Director General interacted with troops deployed in forward locations and appreciated their professionalism, dedication, and steadfast commitment to duty while operating in challenging conditions.
Lt Gen Lakhera also reviewed the prevailing operational environment and assessed the readiness of units deployed in the region.
In recognition of exemplary service and outstanding contributions to the organisation, the DG presented Assam Rifles Commendation Cards to selected personnel. The honours were awarded for distinguished performance and dedication towards operational responsibilities.
The gesture reinforced the ethos of excellence within the force and served as motivation for all ranks to continue maintaining high standards of professionalism and operational effectiveness.
