Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), along with Major General Anupinder Bevli, VSM, Additional Director General of NCC Directorate Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh, called on Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, discussions were held on avenues for further strengthening NCC outreach and expanding youth engagement initiatives across the Union Territory.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment towards empowering the younger generation through leadership development, discipline, skill-building, and nation-building programmes under the NCC framework.
Officials stated that the interaction focused on enhancing opportunities for youth participation, promoting national integration, and encouraging cadets to contribute positively towards society and nation-building.
The meeting highlighted the continued emphasis on strengthening the role of the NCC in shaping responsible, motivated, and future-ready young citizens across Jammu & Kashmir.
