Surgeon Vice Admiral Vivek Hande, Director General (Organisation & Personnel), Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), visited Military Hospital Jammu on May 7, 2026, to assess medical infrastructure and patient care services.
During the visit, the Flag Officer interacted with hospital personnel and patients across various wards, gaining insights into the quality of care being provided. He appreciated the state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU), laboratory facilities, and MRI/CT Scan centre equipped with advanced technologies, enabling comprehensive and holistic medical treatment.

Surg VAdm Hande also commended the staff of the Early Intervention Center (EIC) for their compassionate and professional care extended to children enrolled in specialised programmes. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in ensuring inclusive and effective healthcare delivery.

Additionally, the Flag Officer lauded the Psychiatry team for their proactive programmes aimed at enhancing mental resilience and psychological well-being of troops in the area of responsibility.

The visit underscored the Armed Forces Medical Services’ commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare, strengthening medical infrastructure, and supporting both physical and mental well-being of military personnel and their families.
