As part of the build-up to the upcoming Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Major General Sachin Malik, YSM, VSM, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor of the Academy, reviewed an impressive parade witnessed by enthusiastic schoolchildren and residents of Dehradun.
The event showcased the discipline, military bearing and professionalism of the Officer Cadets undergoing training at the prestigious academy, which has produced generations of military leaders for the Indian Army.

Addressing the cadets after the parade, Major General Malik delivered a motivational message, urging them to embrace the values and traditions of the Indian Army as they prepare to enter commissioned service.
He encouraged the future officers to become the “Shield and Sword of the Nation”, emphasizing their responsibility to safeguard India’s sovereignty and uphold the highest standards of military leadership.
The General Officer also reminded the cadets of the enduring military ethos of “Naam, Namak and Nishan”—honour, loyalty and the regimental spirit—which form the bedrock of service in the Indian Army.

The parade was attended by a large number of schoolchildren and local residents, who witnessed the precision drill and military traditions that define life at the Indian Military Academy. Their presence added to the celebratory atmosphere and provided young spectators an opportunity to experience the spirit of military service and leadership.
The event forms part of the preparations for the Indian Military Academy’s Spring Term 2026 Passing Out Parade, where Officer Cadets will take the historic Antim Pag and begin their journey as commissioned officers in the Indian Army.

Major General Malik’s address served as a reminder of the values, courage and sense of duty expected from the next generation of military leaders as they prepare to serve the nation with honour and distinction.
