In a major step towards promoting technological awareness and cyber security education among youth, the NCC Directorate Gujarat, in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), has launched its inaugural Cyber Defender Camp for 160 NCC cadets from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
The camp was inaugurated by Smt Rivaba Ravindrasinh Jadeja, Minister of State for Education, Government of Gujarat, in the presence of Major General Bimal Monga, SM, VSM, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Gujarat, along with senior NCC and NIELIT officials.

The pioneering initiative is designed to provide cadets with specialised training in digital security, cyber defence and emerging technological domains, aligning with the National Cadet Corps’ broader vision of preparing youth for future challenges in an increasingly digital world.
During the camp, cadets will receive structured training and certification-oriented exposure in cyber security practices, cyber threat awareness, digital resilience and cyber defence mechanisms. The programme aims to develop niche skills that will enhance their technological competence and awareness of modern security challenges.

Addressing the gathering, Smt Rivaba Jadeja commended the efforts of NCC Directorate Gujarat in introducing innovative and technology-driven initiatives for youth development. She highlighted the importance of cyber awareness and digital security in today’s interconnected world and praised the NCC’s role in shaping technologically proficient and responsible citizens.
The Minister noted that such initiatives would contribute significantly towards building a “Sashakt and Viksit Bharat” by empowering young Indians with critical future-ready skills and leadership qualities.
Major General Bimal Monga emphasised the importance of integrating technology education into youth development programmes and highlighted the NCC’s commitment to equipping cadets with competencies relevant to evolving national security and technological landscapes.

The Cyber Defender Camp represents another milestone in the NCC’s efforts to combine leadership development, nation-building and technological empowerment. By exposing cadets to cyber security and digital defence concepts, the initiative seeks to prepare a new generation of informed and capable young leaders ready to contribute to India’s digital future.
The camp is expected to serve as a model for similar technology-focused training programmes across the country, further strengthening the NCC’s role in developing skilled, disciplined and future-ready youth.
