Thiruvananthapuram, July 23, 2026: Air Marshal Jasvir Singh Mann, AVSM, VM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Southern Air Command, visited Air Force Station Thiruvananthapuram on 22 July 2026 to review the station’s operational preparedness and assess its readiness to meet emerging security challenges, particularly in the strategically significant Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
During the visit, the Air Marshal carried out a comprehensive review of the station’s operational capabilities, inspecting flying operations, training standards, aircraft maintenance practices, and administrative activities. The inspection was aimed at ensuring that the station continues to maintain the highest levels of combat readiness and operational efficiency in line with the Indian Air Force’s mission requirements.
The review also focused on the station’s ability to sustain air operations through robust maintenance procedures, effective training programmes, and efficient administrative support. Air Marshal Jasvir Singh Mann was briefed on the station’s ongoing initiatives to enhance operational capability while ensuring seamless coordination across all functional areas.
Addressing Air Warriors during the visit, the AOC-in-C emphasized the critical importance of maintaining constant operational readiness amid the rapidly evolving global security landscape. He highlighted the growing strategic significance of the Indian Ocean Region, underscoring the need for the Indian Air Force to remain vigilant and fully prepared to safeguard India’s maritime and national security interests.
Air Marshal Mann urged all personnel to remain physically fit, professionally competent, and mentally resilient, stressing that these qualities are essential for successfully responding to operational contingencies. He also called upon Air Warriors to uphold the highest standards of discipline, vigilance, and professionalism while carrying out their duties.
The Air Marshal commended the officers, airmen, and civilian personnel of the station for their dedication, high morale, teamwork, and synergy in maintaining operational excellence.
