Major General Debashish Mukherjee, VSM, assumed the appointment of Commandant, Command Hospital (Eastern Command), Kolkata, upon his promotion on 8 July 2026.
An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, Major General Mukherjee is a distinguished Surgical Oncologist with more than three decades of exemplary service in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). Throughout his career, he has held several key clinical, academic and command appointments, earning recognition for his professional excellence and leadership.
On the occasion, Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), extended her congratulations to Major General Mukherjee and conveyed her best wishes as he assumed command of one of the Armed Forces’ premier tertiary care hospitals.
