Major General G Srinivas, VSM, assumed command as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA) on 1 July 2026, taking charge as the Local Military Authority for the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Before assuming command, the General Officer paid homage to the nation’s Bravehearts at the Veerula Smarak, reaffirming the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to honouring the sacrifices of its soldiers.
An accomplished officer with extensive operational experience and administrative expertise, Major General Srinivas brings a wealth of leadership to the formation. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the Sub Area’s focus on operational preparedness, military administration and civil-military coordination across the region.
The Telangana & Andhra Sub Area welcomed its new commander, expressing confidence that his sagacious leadership, professional acumen and steadfast resolve will continue to enhance the formation’s effectiveness while upholding the highest traditions and ethos of the Indian Army.
