Air Marshal S. Sivakumar, Air Officer-in-Charge Administration (AOA) and Commodore Commandant of the Air Force Administrative College (AFAC), visited the Air Force Administrative College from 30 to 31 July 2026 to review its training standards, infrastructure and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing professional excellence and quality of life.
During the visit, the Air Marshal was received by Air Commodore Shivanand, Commandant, AFAC. He was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour, following which he toured various faculties, training establishments and functional sections of the College to assess the wide-ranging initiatives undertaken to modernise training and improve institutional infrastructure.
The Air Marshal was briefed on the College’s efforts to continuously enhance the quality of training through updated curricula, modern teaching methodologies and initiatives designed to prepare personnel for the evolving requirements of the Indian Air Force. He also reviewed measures implemented to improve the quality of life and overall welfare of officers, air warriors and trainees at the establishment.
Appreciating the institution’s performance, Air Marshal Sivakumar commended the Air Force Administrative College for successfully fulfilling its vital role in training administrative officers and personnel while continuously introducing initiatives to strengthen professional competence and institutional excellence.
During his interaction with officers, instructors and trainees, the Air Marshal highlighted the crucial role played by AFAC in developing a future-ready, professionally competent and technologically aware workforce capable of supporting the Indian Air Force’s expanding operational and administrative responsibilities. He encouraged all personnel to continue striving for excellence, innovation and professionalism in every aspect of training and administration.
The Air Force Administrative College is one of the Indian Air Force’s oldest and most prestigious training establishments. It serves as the premier institution for imparting specialised training in administration, logistics, accounts, education, personnel management and other support services that are essential for sustaining the operational effectiveness of the Air Force.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Air Force’s continued emphasis on strengthening professional military education, institutional development and administrative excellence, ensuring that its personnel remain equipped to meet the challenges of an increasingly technology-driven and dynamic operational environment.
