Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth visited Headquarters Southern Command to review the Command’s operational preparedness and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing combat capabilities.
During the visit, General Dhiraj Seth was briefed by Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, on the prevailing operational environment, readiness posture, training initiatives and measures being undertaken to further strengthen the Command’s combat effectiveness.
The COAS emphasised the need to maintain sustained operational readiness and adaptability in response to the rapidly evolving character of warfare. He called for continuous refinement of Techniques, Tactics and Procedures (TTPs) and greater absorption of emerging technologies to ensure that operational capabilities remain relevant to contemporary and future battlefield requirements.
General Dhiraj Seth also underscored the importance of realistic and rigorous training in preparing troops for complex operational contingencies. He stressed the need for greater jointness and integration, along with accelerated indigenous capability development, to build an agile, technologically empowered and future-ready Indian Army.
The Army Chief commended all ranks of Southern Command for their professionalism, dedication and commitment to operational preparedness. He exhorted the troops to remain mission-focused and continue working towards maintaining the Command’s operational edge.
The visit highlighted the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on capability enhancement, technology-enabled operations, realistic training and self-reliance as key pillars of combat readiness.
