Lieutenant General D.S. Kushwah, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area (MG & G Area), met with Shri Sadanand Date, Director General of Police, Maharashtra, to discuss measures aimed at strengthening military-civil cooperation and enhancing coordination on internal security matters.

The interaction focused on advancing the concept of Military-Civil Fusion, with both sides deliberating on ways to improve institutional collaboration between the Indian Army and the Maharashtra Police. The discussions underscored the importance of close coordination among security agencies in addressing evolving internal security challenges and ensuring a swift, unified response to emerging threats.

During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on strengthening joint preparedness, information sharing and coordinated planning to enhance the overall security framework. They also explored avenues for deeper cooperation in areas of mutual interest, recognising that seamless coordination between military and civil security organisations is essential in today’s dynamic security environment.

The interaction reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Indian Army and the Maharashtra Police to work in close partnership in safeguarding national security and maintaining internal stability. Both organisations emphasised the need for continuous engagement, effective communication and integrated operational planning to respond efficiently to a wide range of security contingencies.

Lt Gen D.S. Kushwah highlighted the importance of building strong partnerships with civil administration and law enforcement agencies as part of the Indian Army’s broader approach towards national security. He noted that effective military-civil cooperation enhances preparedness, strengthens resilience and enables a more coordinated response to complex and evolving security challenges.

The meeting reflected the growing emphasis on inter-agency collaboration and whole-of-government approaches to security management. By fostering stronger ties between the Armed Forces and state police organisations, both sides aim to reinforce a unified security architecture capable of addressing conventional as well as emerging threats.

The interaction concluded with a shared resolve to further strengthen cooperation, improve interoperability and deepen coordination mechanisms, reinforcing the collective commitment of the Indian Army and Maharashtra Police towards ensuring peace, security and public safety.
