Lieutenant General Manish Luthra, AVSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Kharga Corps, reviewed the operational readiness of the Kharga Sappers, reaffirming the Indian Army’s commitment to enhancing combat engineering capabilities through innovation, technology and operational excellence.
During the visit, the Corps Commander assessed the formation’s operational preparedness and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening its combat engineering capabilities. He was briefed on the integration of cutting-edge technologies and modern engineering solutions designed to improve mobility, survivability and mission effectiveness across diverse operational environments.
Commending the Kharga Sappers for their unwavering commitment to operational excellence, Lt Gen Luthra appreciated the formation’s sustained efforts towards innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies to meet the evolving demands of modern warfare. He noted that continuous technological advancement remains vital for maintaining operational superiority on future battlefields.
Addressing officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks, the Corps Commander reiterated the enduring Kharga Corps ethos, encapsulated in the inspiring motto, “We will either find a way or create one.” He urged all ranks to remain agile, professionally competent and mission-ready, while embracing innovation and continuously upgrading their technical expertise to overcome emerging operational challenges with determination and ingenuity.
Combat engineers play a crucial role in supporting military operations by enabling troop mobility, constructing battlefield infrastructure, breaching obstacles, conducting minefield operations and providing engineering support during both conventional and counter-insurgency missions. With the growing integration of drones, artificial intelligence, robotics and smart engineering solutions, the Corps of Engineers continues to evolve as a key enabler of the Indian Army’s future warfighting capabilities.
