Mandatory 15-Day Update Window – Critical Instruction

UPSC has provided a strict 15-day window from the date of result declaration (25 August 2026). All qualified candidates must log in to the portal https://upsconline.nic.in during this period (approximately until 9 September 2026) and complete the following:

  • Update educational qualification status (whether appearing/appeared) and upload proof of passing the qualifying examination.
  • Update correspondence and permanent address.
  • Fill higher educational qualifications and achievements (if any).
  • Provide employment details / service experience.

  • Upload OBC/EWS annexure and complete the socio-economic questionnaire (wherever applicable).
  • Finally submit the online form/Detailed Application Form (DAF) related details.

Failure to complete this mandatory update within the stipulated window will render the candidate ineligible for PST/PET and further stages. UPSC has clearly stated that no correspondence will be entertained on this issue.

Next Stage: Physical Standards Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has been designated as the nodal force by the Ministry of Home Affairs to conduct the PST and PET. Intimation regarding date, time, and venue will be uploaded on the SSB recruitment website (recruitment.ssb.gov.in). E-admit cards will also be sent to the registered email IDs of candidates (candidates should check spam folders as well).

Candidates will be required to produce:

  • E-Admit Card
  • Hard copy of the finally submitted Detailed Application Form
  • Original photo identity proof (Aadhaar, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID, etc.)

After successful completion of PST/PET and Medical Standards Test, candidates will be called for the Personality Test / Interview (150 marks). The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Examination and the Interview. Marksheets of all candidates (qualified and non-qualified) will be made available on the UPSC website only after the declaration of the final result and will remain accessible for 30 days.

Advice for Shortlisted Candidates

  • Complete the 15-day portal update process at the earliest without waiting for the last date.
  • Start focused physical training immediately, particularly for the 800-metre run and long jump, as these prove challenging for many candidates.
  • Keep all original documents and certificates ready in an organised manner.
  • Regularly check both the UPSC website and the SSB recruitment portal for updates.
  • Maintain the registered email ID and mobile number active, as all communication will be sent through these channels.

The CAPF Assistant Commandant post offers an excellent opportunity to serve the nation in a leadership role in the Central Armed Police Forces. Candidates who have cleared the written stage should now channel their efforts towards physical fitness and thorough preparation for the interview stage.

For the latest updates, candidates are advised to rely only on the official websites of UPSC and SSB.
