Prayagraj, September 28, 2026: The 15 UP Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC), Prayagraj, accorded a warm farewell to Group Commander Brigadier Upendra Singh Kandil as he retired from service after nearly 35 years of a distinguished military career.
The farewell brought together officers, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), Permanent Instructors and cadets of the battalion, who expressed their gratitude to Brig Kandil for his leadership, guidance and contribution to the NCC fraternity.
During his interaction with the cadets, Brig Kandil shared words of encouragement and urged the young NCC members to remain committed to the core values of discipline, integrity, courage and selfless service. He emphasised that these qualities would help them not only in their NCC journey but also in becoming responsible citizens and future leaders.
His interaction with the cadets marked an important moment of the farewell, reflecting his continued emphasis on character building, discipline and service to the nation.
Members of the battalion thanked Brig Kandil for the guidance and encouragement he provided during his tenure as Group Commander. Officers, instructors and cadets acknowledged his contribution towards strengthening the NCC’s mission of developing disciplined, motivated and responsible youth.
As Brig Kandil concluded nearly three and a half decades of service, the 15 UP Battalion NCC extended its best wishes to him for a happy, healthy and fulfilling retired life.
The battalion said that his example of leadership, commitment and selfless service would continue to inspire cadets and members of the NCC fraternity in the years ahead.
