The Indian Army’s Corps of Signals Mountaineering Team has successfully completed an ambitious high-altitude expedition by summiting three peaks above 6,000 metres in Ladakh, showcasing exceptional endurance, courage and mountaineering proficiency.
The expedition, undertaken under the theme “Dreams of Valour – Three Peaks, One Mission, Infinite Resolve,” culminated with the successful ascent of Mt Chamser Kangri (6,622 metres) in August 2026.
The achievement marked the completion of a challenging three-peak mission undertaken by the Corps of Signals team in the demanding high-altitude terrain of Ladakh.
Earlier in August, the mountaineers had successfully conquered Mt Kiagar Ri (6,100 metres) and Mt Mentok Kangri (6,250 metres) before turning their attention to the significantly higher Mt Chamser Kangri.
Operating at altitudes exceeding 6,000 metres requires mountaineers to contend with extremely low oxygen levels, difficult terrain and rapidly changing weather conditions. The successful completion of all three ascents reflected the team’s physical conditioning, technical expertise, careful planning and ability to operate effectively in challenging environments.
The expedition also demonstrated the spirit of adventure and resilience that remains an important part of the Indian Army’s training ethos.
By successfully scaling Mt Kiagar Ri, Mt Mentok Kangri and Mt Chamser Kangri during a single mission, the Corps of Signals mountaineers concluded their expedition with an impressive demonstration of teamwork and determination.
The accomplishment stands as a fitting reflection of the expedition’s motto — three peaks, one mission and infinite resolve.
