The Defence Accounts Department (DAD) has achieved a major milestone in resolving discrepant pension cases under SPARSH (System for Pension Administration – Raksha), completing normalization of all identified cases related to the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy and nearly 99% of cases pertaining to the Indian Army.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the department has successfully normalized all 1,45,182 discrepant cases belonging to the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy.
Of these, 1,12,638 cases belong to the Indian Air Force, while 32,544 cases are related to the Indian Navy, representing 100% normalization for both services.
3.90 Lakh Indian Army Cases Normalized
Significant progress has also been made in resolving discrepancies concerning Indian Army pensioners.
Out of 3,94,779 discrepant Indian Army cases, the Defence Accounts Department has normalized 3,90,336 cases, amounting to approximately 98.8% of the total.
This means only a small proportion of the identified Army cases remain to be normalized.
Overall, the department has normalized 5,35,518 cases across the Army, Navy and Air Force.
Strengthening the SPARSH Pension System
SPARSH is the Ministry of Defence’s digital pension administration system designed to manage defence pensions through a centralized and largely paperless platform.
The system covers various aspects of pension processing and provides pensioners with access to pension-related services through a digital interface.
The Defence Accounts Department said the latest achievement reflects coordinated efforts and a result-oriented approach towards strengthening the SPARSH ecosystem and addressing discrepancies affecting defence pension records.
With all identified Air Force and Navy cases normalized and 98.8% of Army cases completed, the department is now close to completing normalization of the identified discrepant cases across all three Armed Forces.
