The Indian Army’s Fire and Fury Corps conducted the INNO-YODHHA: Idea, Innovation, Indigenisation, Research & Development (I3R&D) Competition 2026 from September 7 to 10, promoting innovation and field-driven problem-solving among personnel operating in some of the country’s most challenging terrain.
Held under the theme “Together Towards Excellence,” the competition provided a platform for soldiers and innovators to showcase practical ideas and indigenous solutions developed from their experiences in high-altitude operational areas.
The innovations presented during the competition focused on addressing operational challenges encountered by troops, improving functional efficiency and strengthening the overall operational capabilities of formations deployed in demanding high-altitude environments.
Personnel serving in such areas routinely operate under extreme weather, difficult terrain and logistical constraints. The INNO-YODHHA initiative encourages them to identify problems encountered on the ground and develop practical solutions tailored to actual operational requirements.
The competition also highlighted the Indian Army’s growing emphasis on indigenisation and self-reliance, with field formations being encouraged to contribute directly to the development of solutions that can improve military effectiveness.
By combining operational experience with innovation, research and development, the Fire and Fury Corps aims to transform challenges encountered in the field into workable solutions that can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of troops.
The INNO-YODHHA 2026 initiative reflects the Indian Army’s broader push to foster a culture in which personnel at different levels are empowered to innovate and contribute ideas for improving operational preparedness, particularly in strategically important high-altitude regions.
