Lieutenant Abhay Pratap Singh, a newly commissioned officer of the Indian Army, paid a courtesy call on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on 10 September 2026, days after completing his military training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya.
Lt Abhay Pratap Singh was accompanied by his father, Bhishma Pal Singh, and his mother during the meeting with the Chief Minister. Photographs shared by the Chief Minister’s office showed the young Army officer in uniform being welcomed and presented with a bouquet.
The meeting marked a proud moment for the family as Lt Abhay begins his career as an officer in the Indian Army.
Passed Out From OTA Gaya
Lt Abhay Pratap Singh recently passed out from the Officers Training Academy, Gaya, following the successful completion of his rigorous pre-commission military training.
The latest Passing Out Parade at OTA Gaya was held on 5 September 2026, marking the culmination of training for officer cadets of the SSC (Tech) Men-65 and SSC (Tech) Women-36 courses.
After earning his commission, Lt Abhay has joined the Indian Army’s Corps of Signals, one of the Army’s critical technical arms responsible for providing secure and reliable military communications across operational environments.
Beginning His Journey With the Corps of Signals
As a young Signals officer, Lt Abhay will become part of the Army’s sophisticated communication and information infrastructure that connects commanders, formations and troops during both peacetime and military operations.
The Corps of Signals has an increasingly important role as modern warfare becomes more dependent on secure digital communications, networks, information systems and technology.
For Lt Abhay, joining the Corps marks the beginning of a demanding new chapter following months of intensive training at OTA Gaya.
Meets Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
Following his commissioning, Lt Abhay visited Lucknow with his parents and met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 10 September.
The Chief Minister’s office shared photographs from the interaction, highlighting the achievement of the newly commissioned officer and his family.
The presence of his father, Bhishma Pal Singh, and mother made the occasion particularly significant, with the family witnessing Lt Abhay begin his professional journey in the Indian Army.
