Bengaluru, September 18, 2026: The Southern Command Principals’ Meet brought together Principals of Army Public Schools (APS) under the Indian Army’s Southern Command in Bengaluru, providing a platform for discussions on strengthening educational standards and nurturing future generations.
Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, Army Commander, Southern Command, attended the meet and interacted with the principals of Army Public Schools. The interaction focused on the evolving role of educational institutions in preparing students to become responsible, confident and value-driven citizens.
Addressing the gathering, Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar highlighted the important role of education in nation-building. He emphasised that academic achievement should be complemented by holistic development, character building and value-based learning to prepare students for future challenges.
The Army Commander also appreciated the dedication and commitment of APS principals and educators in maintaining high standards of education and creating an environment that supports the overall development of students.

The meet provided school leaders with an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss educational practices and deliberate on measures aimed at further enhancing the quality of teaching and learning across Army Public Schools under Southern Command.

The initiative reflected Southern Command’s emphasis on “Nurturing Minds, Building Character,” with a focus on developing students not only academically but also as responsible citizens equipped with strong values, leadership qualities and a sense of service to society.
