New Delhi, October 23, 2026: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth interacted with senior Indian Army officers scheduled to retire on October 31, 2026, during the Retiring Officers’ Seminar (ROS), recognising their distinguished careers and decades of dedicated service to the nation.
During the interaction, General Seth commended the retiring officers for their selfless commitment, professionalism and invaluable contributions to the Indian Army. He congratulated them on successfully completing their military careers and acknowledged their role in upholding the organisation’s traditions, values and operational excellence.
Addressing the officers, the Army Chief emphasised that their responsibilities towards the nation would continue even after retirement. He described them as “Yoddhas Beyond Uniform,” highlighting that the spirit of a soldier remains unchanged regardless of whether they are serving in uniform or pursuing civilian responsibilities.

General Seth encouraged the retiring officers to continue contributing to society and nation-building by drawing upon their extensive military experience, leadership qualities and professional expertise.
The interaction reflected the Indian Army’s enduring respect for its retiring personnel and its recognition of their lifelong commitment to national service.
The Retiring Officers’ Seminar serves as an important platform for officers approaching superannuation, providing an opportunity to reflect on their military careers and prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

The Army Chief’s message reinforced the belief that retirement marks the conclusion of active military service but not the end of an officer’s contribution to the nation. Through their experience, discipline and leadership, retired officers can continue playing a meaningful role in strengthening society and supporting India’s development.
