The Indian Battalion (INDBATT) medical team, known as “Prachand Paanch,” conducted a Medical Assistance Camp at Kawkaba, extending essential healthcare support to members of the local community, particularly those with limited access to medical facilities.
During the camp, the medical team provided consultations, treatment and necessary medicines to residents, addressing a range of immediate healthcare requirements. The initiative enabled local people to receive medical attention in a supportive and accessible environment.
The camp was warmly received by residents of Kawkaba and also provided an opportunity for direct interaction between the Indian peacekeepers and the local population.

Beyond providing healthcare services, the initiative helped strengthen civil-military cooperation and foster greater mutual trust and goodwill between INDBATT personnel and the community.
Indian Army contingents deployed on United Nations peacekeeping missions regularly undertake humanitarian and community outreach activities alongside their operational responsibilities. Medical assistance camps form an important part of these efforts, particularly in areas where communities face difficulties accessing healthcare.

The Kawkaba initiative reflected INDBATT’s emphasis on supporting local communities through humanitarian assistance while building stronger bonds with the people in its area of responsibility.
