The Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre at Delhi Cantonment hosted cadets from the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, and a group of children from Sikkim as part of initiatives aimed at promoting national integration and familiarising young Indians with the traditions of the Indian Army.
The RIMC cadets visited the Regimental Centre as part of their Midterm Hike, while the children from Sikkim were participating in a National Integration Tour. The visits offered the young participants an opportunity to experience the military environment and learn about the history, traditions and ethos associated with one of the Indian Army’s oldest infantry regiments.
During their time at the Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre, the visitors were introduced to the regiment’s military heritage and the values that have shaped generations of soldiers. The interaction also provided them with a broader understanding of discipline, camaraderie, courage and the spirit of service that form an integral part of life in the Armed Forces.
Such visits are intended to bridge the gap between the Armed Forces and the country’s youth, particularly by giving students from different regions an opportunity to interact with military personnel and gain first-hand exposure to Army institutions.

For the RIMC cadets, many of whom aspire to pursue careers in the Armed Forces, the visit provided an opportunity to deepen their understanding of regimental traditions and military life. The National Integration Tour involving children from Sikkim, meanwhile, highlighted efforts to connect young people from different parts of the country with institutions of national importance.

The Indian Army said the visits helped strengthen appreciation for military heritage, national unity and the spirit of service among the young participants.

The initiative forms part of the Army’s broader engagement with young Indians through educational visits, national integration tours and outreach programmes designed to encourage youth empowerment, leadership and nation-building.
