Lieutenant General Mohit Seth, SM, VSM, has taken over command of the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps (XVI Corps), succeeding Lieutenant General P K Mishra, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM.
The change of command marks a new chapter for the strategically important Corps, which operates under the Indian Army’s Northern Command and is responsible for a sensitive operational area in the Jammu region.
On assuming command, Lt Gen Mohit Seth called upon all ranks of the White Knight Corps to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, professional excellence and team spirit.
He also emphasised the Corps’ continuing responsibility towards fostering peace, security and stability in the region.
The White Knight Corps plays a critical role in safeguarding areas along the Line of Control and conducting counter-terrorism and security operations across its area of responsibility. Its formations operate across challenging terrain and remain prepared to respond to conventional as well as asymmetric security threats.

Lt Gen Seth takes charge from Lt Gen P K Mishra, who led the Corps during a period of significant operational activity in the Jammu region.
The White Knight Corps, announcing the change of command, reiterated its operational ethos with the message: “Prepared for Today. Ready for Tomorrow.”
With Lt Gen Mohit Seth now at the helm, the Corps will continue to focus on operational preparedness, professional excellence and maintaining security and stability across its area of responsibility.
