The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday transferred 20 Indian Police Service officers, changing the police chiefs of about 10 districts and altering charge at the Additional Director General level.
The orders, reported on 7 October 2026, cover Barabanki, Basti, Jaunpur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Mau, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Hapur and Jalaun, along with postings in the Lucknow and Prayagraj police commissionerates and city-level changes in Bareilly and Azamgarh.
Senior charge
A. Satish Ganesh (IPS, 1996 batch) has been relieved of the additional charge of Additional Director General (Crime). He will continue as ADG, Traffic and Road Safety. Bhagwan Swaroop Srivastava (IPS, 1998 batch), ADG, Technical Services, has been given the additional charge of ADG (Crime).

The government has not stated reasons for the reshuffle in the reports available so far. The changes take effect with the issue of the transfer orders.
